The Second Annual In Her Shoes Global 5k 2024 is coming up!

Last year, we launched the In Her Shoes 5k (+podcast) to connect with our supporters worldwide. The event was a dream come true for us! Seeing all of you gathered with your friends and family, wearing your Second Mile Haiti shirts and spreading the word about the ongoing need for maternal healthcare here.

We created a memorable listening experience via a special podcast episode that took you behind the scenes and into one mother’s journey as she navigated the challenges of pregnancy and birth in rural Northern Haiti.

During this year’s podcast episode, we will introduce you to Franchesca, a mom who had an unexpected childbirth with us at the Cap Haitien Maternity Center earlier this year. With this year’s exclusive “In Her Shoes” episode, you’ll walk with us step by step on her journey to arrive safely and in the nick of time to welcome her baby. You won’t want to miss her story.

The beauty of our 5k is that it’s for everyone. You don’t have to be an athlete to participate. Move with us in a way that comfortable for you and a distance that works for your body! There’s no specific time or date— you get to choose when to participate anytime during the suggested weekend of September 19-22, 2024. We LOVED seeing everyone’s pictures last year and we hope to get even more fun photos this year!
